April has arrived but don’t be fooled! There are so many action-packed tournaments for both men and women so be sure to keep those TVs on and eyes peeled for all the best matches.

As March wrapped up, tennis fans unfortunately had to say goodbye to Indian Wells and Miami until next year, and certainly, we won’t forget the unbelievable matches that took place. Thrilling upsets, marathon matches, and show-stopping highlights, the Sunshine Double had it all!
Carlos Alcaraz repeated his victorious run from 2023 and captured the Indian Wells title over Daniil Medvedev, the same player that he also beat in the final last year. Unfortunately, his success didn’t translate into Miami as he fell to 32-year-old veteran Grigor Dimitrov. With the win, Dimitrov will re-enter the world’s top ten, a place he hasn’t been since November of 2018! He is certainly finding his form over the last 12 months so he’ll definitely be a player to watch out for in the coming months.

Moving over to the women’s side, no surprise that world number one Iga Swiatek secured the win at Indian Wells. She has been absolutely dominant for a few years now and is definitely the player to beat in any tournament she plays! But, like Alcaraz, she couldn’t pull through in Miami. Swiatek lost to Ekaterina Alexandrova, a 29-year-old Russian whose ranking is on the rise. Currently sitting at 16, it looks likely that Ekaterina will surpass that in the coming weeks.

Now, looking ahead, there are plenty of mouthwatering matches and tournaments to come. On top of that, it’s clay court season! Say goodbye to good old trusty hard courts and prepare for some fun in the sun (and the dirt). Europe is host to a multitude of tournaments in Portugal, Barcelona, and the two biggest in Monaco and Madrid. Two Master 1000 events or on deck and the first is set to begin on April 7th! Don’t miss it!

Lastly, be sure to keep an eye on current tennis news. Rafael Nadal has been sadly riddled with injuries lately but might be making a comeback in the next few weeks. Nadal has won 92 ATP titles with 63 of them being on clay along with 14 French Opens. A feat that will likely never be bested. With the possibility of the greatest clay court player ever returning soon, it’ll be an absolute privilege and an honor to see him back competing.
