The Positively Tennis Academy is…

(formerly the Complete Player Program)

  • For kids who want to focus on tennis several days per week and families who can support that desire.
  • Organized by maturity and ability level for Red, Orange, Green, and Yellow scaled for faster-development of players.  These are custom formed groups, by invitation.
  • A combination of Instruction, Practice, Focused Practice, and Competitive Play, including Physical Fitness, Mental/Emotional Discipline and Skill/Ability Acquisition.
  • Perfect for “level 8” and above players (8. COMPETITIVE WITH GOALS: Develop to performantly play on the high school team, and beyond)
    • Players develop their own individual development plans.
Designed around the players who sign-up and register, these are custom groups that start when a minimum number of players in that group/level Signup (below), get assigned a Group, and then Register.
  • Player Development: Instruction, Focused Practice, and Competition.  Internal competitive play starts as soon as groups form with at least minimum players signed up and registered.
    • The JTT Team forms from players in the program and is integrated into the Instruction and Practice classes.

Schedule

Dates:
  • The Positively Tennis Academy runs continuously throughout the year monthly, for 4 weeks at a time, weather permitting, for 3 seasons.
    • In the winter the Academy make need 2 months to play 1 month’s worth of classes as we know we’ll have more weather cancellations in the winter
    The PTA runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

    Locations

    The courts for this program will be based on the registrations we get and may include Alexandria City and/or Fairfax County.
    In Alexandria City the classes are at either Armistead Boothe Park or the Carlyle tennis courts.
    In Eastern Fairfax County the most likely locations are in zip codes 22306 and 22310.

    Curriculum

    • Positively Tennis Academy (formerly Complete Player Program)
    • Player Triangle Required.
    The PTA Includes 3 Curricula in 1
    • Modern Technical, Tactical, and Strategic play
    • Fitness Testing and Training – Get Physically Fit to Play
    • Mental Emotional Discipline – Get Mentally Fit to Play
    Goals, Plans, and Measurement for each player
    • Development of skills and tactical play will be tested in meaningful competition.
    Character development for sports and life – Confidence, Resilience, Responsibility and 4-dozen other traits are candidate for each group

    A parent will need to consult with their player to fill out this form. This form can only accommodate 1 player at a time, When groups are formed players will then be allowed to register and the program will start.
