SRA Kids Group Tennis Classes

Our instructional group classes for kids include:

Holistic approach.
Fun, social-emotional, character development, and skill building focus
Consistent with our modern player development curriculum
Prepare players to play and practice on their own. Practice what is learned in the lessons – use deliberate practice to improve faster.

Mature 16 and 17 year old players can enroll in the SRA adult classes.

1. Complete beginner. Never played tennis or any other racquet sports before. May not be skilled at visual tracking and hand-racquet-eye coordination
2. Minimal experience. Little play experience or instruction and is challenged to maintain a rally, and may not have a real serve. May still need to mature visual tracking and hand-eye coordination
3. Beginner. Plays some, can maintain a friendly rally, and may/not have a consistent serve. May or may not know how to play a match and keep score with etiquette
4. Beginner/Intermediate. Can maintain a consistent medium paced rally and may control direction and depth of their shots. Probably can serve enough to play a friendly game. Has at least basic etiquette
5. Intermediate. Rallys with some proficiency in direction and depth, and is working on pace and spin. Has some match play experience and knows basic tennis etiquette and has exposure to mental/emotional discipline processes
6. Intermediate/Advanced. Competitive player in orange, green, or yellow knows how to serve, rally and score. Has or is developing strategy and tactics. Is controlling/working on controlling spins. Is improving mental/emotional discipline and physical fitness/skills. Is advanced beyond that

PLAYER, PARENT, AND COACH NEED TO ALIGN. It is great for kids to have dreams and goals, however if their dreams are 7 or above they need to have an idea of the implied focus and effort, not later than 11 or 12 years of age for levels 8, 9 or 10.
