Registration is open!

The MHC Piranhas tennis program is for ages 6 to 18, with a small number eligible for participation in the MVCT Junior League matches in June and July.  This MVCT Jr League players comprise the “Piranhas Team”, all the other players are in “Piranhas Tennis”

**The Piranhas Team needs a parent volunteer or two to serve as the Team Representative to the MVCT Jr League and coordinate with other players’ parents about matches.  Please contact us if you are interested.

This is a Practice and (Competitive) Play program.  Everything is play-based and designed to be fun.

Piranhas Junior Tennis Practice & Play Program 

Piranhas Team plays in the MVCT Jr. League

• All other Piranhas players who can serve, rally and score will be eligible for MHC intra-match play.
• MVCT Jr. Team Match days are Wednesday mornings and Sunday afternoon/evenings TBD
  • The MVCT Jr. League is exclusively yellow ball match play.

Piranhas Tennis Practice & Play:

• During school year, the first two weeks, Piranhas will be in the evenings.
• After school is out for the summer, Piranhas will be in the mornings, and coordinated with swim team as much as possible.
• Classes will be 4 days per week: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
  • Piranhas Team matches are on Wednesdays and Sundays

Practice will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. We will not have any makeups or refunds due to rain cancellations except under extreme circumstances. Players who play in matches will have an additional fee of $35.

• 3. Beginner. Plays some, can maintain a friendly rally, and may/not have a consistent serve. May or may not know how to play a match and keep score with etiquette
• 4. Beginner/Intermediate. Can maintain a consistent medium paced rally and may control direction and depth of their shots. Probably can serve enough to play a friendly game. Has at least basic etiquette
• 5. Intermediate. Rallys with some proficiency in direction and depth, and is working on pace and spin. Has some match play experience and knows basic tennis etiquette and has exposure to mental/emotional discipline processes
• 6. Intermediate/Advanced. Competitive player in orange, green, or yellow knows how to serve, rally and score. Has or is developing strategy and tactics. Is controlling/working on controlling spins. Is improving mental/emotional discipline and physical fitness/skills. Is advanced beyond that

Seasonal/Quarterly Email and Monthly Newsletter

We don't pollute your inbox. We use several broad emails a year. While you are regularly playing with us in our lessons/programs you will get about 1 email per week for that particular lesson/program from your coach.

Seasonal Email: The Seasonal email is comprised of 3 or 4, at most 5, emails a year.  They generally align to our quarterly/seasonal offerings, and may also keep you apprised of continuous programs and new initiatives we have for you.

Monthly Newsletter:  The Newsletter comes out 10 to 12 times per year, once per month.  Each newsletter has 3 parts:  A news section, in inspirational quote, or possibly a tennis joke or historical fact, and a brief Advantage Tennis update.

LEGAL CONSENT & RELEASE: I do hereby assume full responsibility for any and all damages, injuries (including death), illnesses, or losses that me or my child(ren) or any family members may sustain or incur, if any, while attending, practicing, participating or witnessing in any program, sport or physical activity occurring in or about the Courts and Facilities.  

"Courts and Facilities" refers to any tennis court, gym or multi-purpose room, park, building, paved surface, or playable area in or around Northern Virginia Public or Private Schools, ACDS, Alexandria City, Arlington County, Fairfax County, Falls Church,  Fairlington, Park Fairfax, Waynewood Recreation Association, Stratford Recreation Association, and Advantage Tennis premises or at any offsite location used for Advantage Tennis programs or activities.  

I hereby assume full risk, waive all claims and release and hold its instructors, or partners of said program or event, individually or otherwise, harmless for any and all claims for injuries or damages. I am fully aware and understand that Advantage Tennis and associated Courts and Facilities, do not employ or contract with any medical services, provisions for ordinary or emergency medical services in affiliation with Advantage Tennis programs and offerings.
