Our mission is to positively help people develop to their full potential in life.
We foster play and create an environment for self-discovery and learning through self-driven and coached development.
How we do it:
Fun & Safety:
Everyone learns better when having fun – especially kids
Fun, respect, courtesy, awareness, and appreciation, combined with attention to class-time behaviors, contribute to our safe emotional environment. We recognize successes and value effort in the path to achievement. Tennis is a game. Why play unless it is fun!
Holistically:
Tennis is naturally good exercise for the body, mind, and emotional energy, and builds character.
The technical and tactical skills trained in our lessons, cannot be separated from the mental and emotional performance. We train players in Mental Emotional Discipline through instructed play situations and competition, and as a discrete curriculum for high performance and/or league players. Students get opportunities to learn independent thinking and problem solving while developing skills, and through competition. We supercharge character development needed for sports, and for life, starting with Red ball play. All of our junior group programs contain emphasis on positive character traits such as effort, resilience, respect, and kindness on a constantly revisited basis during our classes. Tennis itself is a teacher of life skills such as responsibility, decision making and perseverance.
Teaching & Games:
Students need to discover their own paths to growth and progress, based on their efforts
In our classes learning is interactive and experiential as well as taught. We use various activities to allow students to be creative and challenged, and to achieve. Thinking, learning, focus, and playing are part of every lesson.
Relationships:
We have to know you before we can really teach you.
Understanding our players as the people they are is important to us. Additionally, we need to learn how our players learn and interact most comfortably in order for us to develop together. Building relationships between players and between player and coach are critical to the player development process. Our Player Triangle is the supporting roles and relationship between the parent(s), player, and coach. It takes a village.
Social:
Tennis is an individual and a team sport; and tennis is a social activity.
We encourage socializing in our programs both on and off the court. We value the interactions and friendships made through our tennis programs. Additionally, we strive to create and foster player groups that can practice and play together to improve their tennis and their friendships.
Communication:
Effective communication is critical.
We communicate with our students, and parents of students through various means, striving to keep everyone informed regarding student efforts and progress – striving for a mutual understanding. Tell us how we can communicate better with you.
And…
We also strive to be environmentally conscious, thus pursuing true ball recycling as broadly as possible.
