Your privacy is very important to us.

Advantage Tennis (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the Advantage Tennis website (the “Service”). The URL for the website/Service is: https://advantage-tennis.net

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our Service.

We do not share nor sell your information.  The services that are described in this Privacy Policy may have access to your information.  Specifically, when you signup or register for one of our programs, or you create a membership account, our Service collects information.

By using the our website you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy, and consistent with Virginia law regarding data protection.

Information Collection And Use

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

The data we collect is in your Registration, any of the Contact forms, or when you register as a Member in the website.  Our none of our contact forms require any more personally identifiable information than the Registration form.

ABOUT CHILDREN:  We do not collect birth dates, although with children we use birth month and year.  We collect children’s school, and zip code.  We may use age/grade, school, zip code, and other considerations when planning offerings at certain locations, such as schools or public courts.  We work hard to group players appropriately for lessons, play days, teams and other programs.

PHYSICAL ADDRESS (Optional) :  You may provide us with your physical address which we never share or sell.   Rarely we may do a physical mailing which you would receive if you’ve provided your physical address.  We collect your zip code and use it for researching desirable locations for our programs.

CONTACT INFORMATION:  We collect parents names and contact information as our primary means of communicating with you about your children.   We do not communicate with minors without parental involvement or permission.  For adult players we collect your name and contact information so that we can communicate with you.

WAIVER:  We collect your agreement with our legal waiver, which is not Personally Identifiable Information and is needed to placate the legal and insurance communities. 

HEALTH:  We may collect a synopsis of your or your child’s health issues that could impact their ability to play on-court.   Most frequently this comes to us as a food or other type of allergy, an injury, or an attention challenge.  This information is usually important for our ability to help you or your child most effectively in our programs.  During the pandemic we also collected your assertion of  COVID symptom-free health.

EMERGENCY CONTACT:  We may collect your emergency contact information which typically includes a name and phone number, and perhaps more, of a family member or a doctor’s office.

OTHER:  We may collect your Club affiliation, and other data such as photo privileges, mailing list preference, how did you find us, or payment type preferences.  None of this is Personally Identifiable Information.  These types of information tell us how we might provide better for you as well as how we might do things better ourselves.

MEMBERS:  Member users of our website additionally have their signup information such as username and password stored.   Also, this is technical, apparently the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string (who knew?) are collected in some automated security area to help spam detection.

 

 

What personal data we do NOT collect and why we do NOT collect it

ADS:  We don’t use ads.

PII:  We don’t want any data we don’t use, including that we want to minimize our collection of your Personally Identifiable Information (PII).  We do not collect birth dates and your physical address is generally optional. We collect zip codes.

FINANCIAL:  We do not collect any of your financial information such as credit card numbers, credit status nor income levels.  We use PayPal to process all credit transactions and whatever financial data you provide them during a transaction we do not receive.  If you write a check to us we may keep a copy for up to 3 years, not online.

PHOTO:  If you give us photo permission we do not affiliate any photos with names or any personally identifiable information even if we could.

NO UPLOADING:  We do not use blogging features of our web provider, nor any other features that would allow document uploading or storing.  Users may not leave comments nor upload data, files or media that could pose security risks.  Users can fill out our forms.

Log Data

We collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your computer’s hard drive.

Our Service may use “cookies” to operate. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. We are unaware of this being the case, however, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

Service Providers

We may utilize third-party applications to facilitate our Service, provide the Service on our behalf, perform Service-related services. For instance, our Registration forms are a third-party application, and so is the weather forecast you see on each page. The Registration form collects your information and the weather forecast doesn’t even know you are there.

Some of these third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

We also use third-party applications to provide security beyond the basic hosting level of security. 

Website and Google Drive

The aforementioned data is collected in our Advantage Tennis hosted website servers, and most of it is through an application that provides the ability to fill in the contact and registration forms. 

When you participate in our programs your contact information, and child’s age or grade, are in our Advantage Tennis instantiation of Google Drive, in Sheets.  Our Google Drive account is private and restricted strictly to our team members only.  Here is Google’s answer about their security.

Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us. Be cautious, remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.  We aim to mitigate the Internet’s inherent risks by limiting the amount of information we collect.

Links To Other Sites

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We do not knowingly post any links to any questionable other websites.

We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Compliance With Laws

We will disclose your Personal Information where required to do so by law or subpoena.
